Justice League Snyder Cut is The Most Discussed Film of 2021

According to Twitter, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is the Most Discussed Film of 2021. The social media platform shared its analytics reports for the year. The Justice League Snyder Cut is taking the top spot in a year that was overcrowded with a lot of superhero movies as the most talked-about genre in film. It is no longer a surprise to hear this news - especially from Twitter. Twitter has been the ground zero staging ground for a lot of social media movements, specifically, #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, which was almost singularly responsible for the Justice League Snyder Cut to be released on HBO Max.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been so nonstop with their presence on Twitter that the hashtag became a double-edged sword. While the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut was able to achieve the goal of gaining popularity and interest in Zack Snyder’s "true vision" of the Justice League movie, it also made a lot of mainstream fans cautious of the dedication of Snyder Cut loyalists had for the project. This resulted in a sort of clash from both parties, resulting in Justice League Snyder Cut being a consistent trending topic.

This year also saw another big comic book movie consistently dominating social media platforms: Spider-Man No Way Home. If Marvel’s third sequel to the franchise had revealed more in terms of marketing materials and started the promotional campaign a little earlier, it would probably have easily taken the top spot, instead of the no. 2 spot. Nevertheless, Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie has the added advantage of not having its social media cease to exist after the release; after the campaign for one movie, it surprisingly turned into a campaign to get a whole "Snyderverse" of DC movies. That’s why the campaign is not yet over, this could also be a nice boost to Justice League Snyder Cut’s sustained presence on social media platforms.
