Justice League Snyder Cut: Amber Heard Reportedly Replaces Jason Momoa in Pivotal Scene

Aquaman star Amber Heard's future in the DC Extended Universe seems promising despite all of the personal issues she's been dealing with as of late. We recently learned from the 34-year-old actress that she'll return for Aquaman 2 to reprise her role as Mera. Now, a new rumor might have just been confirmed that she also joined the Snyder Cut reshoots and additional photography ahead of Justice League's much-awaited release, or re-release, if you'd like to call it that.

Insider Daniel Richtman is reporting that Amber was indeed part of the Justice League reshoots and her appearance on the film may have just gotten a level up. According to Richtman, Heard replaced co-star Jason Momoa in the pivotal Knightmare scene which apparently is getting an extended look. Taking to his Patreon account, the tipster said, "In the Snyder Cut Mera has the trident in the Knightmare future and is taking Aquaman's spot on the JL." This is all just a rumor for now so of course, take it with a huge grain of (sea)salt.

If this ends up being true, I'm not quite sure how fans would react to it once they see the film. Amber has become Hollywood's most polarizing celebrity and fans are hell-bent on boycotting any project she's a part of and sadly, that includes her DCEU films. But hey, it's not like she'll replace Momoa in the League moving forward. Batman's Knightmare vision takes place in an alternate timeline and it's only meant to give the caped crusader some sort of a warning of what's to come.

No official release date has been confirmed for Justice League but it's expected to hit HBO Max in 2021.
