News about Jung Chae Yul's passing emerged Tuesday, April 11, surprising the South Korean entertainment industry to its very core. Her agency, Management S, confirmed the news on the same day, though the cause of her death is still unknown.
Jung Chae Yul's Passing
"We are here to deliver heartbreaking news. Actress Chaeyul has left us," Management S told MK News, as translated by Koreaboo.
"Her funeral will be held privately in accordance to the wishes of her family, who must be in greater sadness than anyone else," the statement continued. "We hope you pray for the deceased so Chaeyul, who was also sincere in her acting, may rest in peace."

The CEO of the actress' agency also told OSEN, via The Independent, how hardworking Jung Chae Yul was, praising the late model.
"Our Chae-Yul was very hardworking. She was a deep-hearted and cool friend," he said. "In my opinion, it is hard to describe in words how amazing she was as an actress."
Who was Jung Chae Yul?
Jung Chae Yul started to make a name for herself in 2016 in the show Devil's Runway. She began to be known as a model and actress, born on September 4, 1996.
Esteem Entertainment represented her over the years, and her breakthrough came with the 2020 K-drama Zombie Detective.

Before her passing, Jung Chae Yul was reportedly busy filming the new K-drama Wedding Impossible. According to Star News, via SportsKeeda, the show's production has stopped for a time after so that the producers can assess the situation.
