Have you been wondering what happened to Bethany in the first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level? The fate of the character has just been revealed in the sequel's final trailer and it's a huge shock.
The trailer opens with Spencer's friends arriving at his home to check up on him and they soon discover that he had tried to fix the game. Unfortunately, they are immediately sucked back into the game along with Spencer's Grandpa Eddie and his friend Milo.
As the previous trailer has already confirmed, only Martha ends up in the right avatar. Grandpa Eddie is now Smolder Bravestone, Milo is now Mouse Finbar, and Fridge ended up in Bethany's former avatar Shelly Oberon. But where's Bethany and Spencer?
Spencer's fate is still unclear but now we know what happened to Martha. At one point, Seaplane McDonough meets up with the gang on a black horse, claiming that Bethany told him they might need his help. When Ruby asks where Bethany is, Seaplane reveals that her avatar is actually the horse.
But how do we know it's really Bethany? One of Mouse's new skills includes linguistics and he happens to speak horse now (no, seriously). When the horse neighs, he translates, "She says, 'Oh my god like I'm a total horse.'" Shelly is relieved to hear this. "Yep, that's Bethany," he says.
Will we ever learn what happened to Spencer? It might have something to do with the new character played by Awkwafina, but don't take my word for it.
Jumanji: The Next Level stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. The film is scheduled for release on December 13.
