There is much excitement for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 considering that it means we'll be seeing more of the Sorcerers in the future. But could it also mean a terrible thing will happen to one particular character? Takahiro Sakurai is hyping up his return in the second season by teasing Satoru Gojo's shocking fate this winter! POSSIBLE SEASON 2 SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
Takahiro Sakurai played Geto Suguru in the first season of the anime as well as Jujutsu Kaisen 0. He was in attendance at the special screening of the film where it was announced that Season 2 is happening later this year. When asked about the announcement, Sakurai reportedly said, "I can't wait to seal Gojo Satoru on October 31st."
If you've been following the anime, that's an important date that has been repeated several times. The Curses have repeatedly expressed their plan to seal Gojo in the Prison Realm but it didn't happen in the first season. On the other hand, they attempt their goal in the Shibuya Incident arc in the manga.
So does this mean Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will reveal Gojo's shocking fate? Sakurai's tease clearly implies that the Shibuya Incident arc will be followed in the second season. With that in mind, fans will need to prepare for the worst later this Winter.
For now, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the release window is set for Winter 2023 and this could mean that the anime will return anytime between December 2022 and March 2023. It might seem unlikely that the second season will air this year but fans can rest assured that it will be out early next year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
