It's finally happening! The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has officially been announced. In addition to that, the Season 2 release window has been confirmed!
It was previously reported that there will be a major announcement at a special screening of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 that was attended by the film's voice cast. Not surprisingly, fans speculated that the announcement would have something to do with the anime and they were not disappointed as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was officially announced at the event. In addition to that, creator Gege Akutami shared a congratulatory message for the anime's second season.
“They’re making a season 2 for the TV anime series~~! thank you so much for everything!! to all the readers, viewers, and people involved!!” Akutami wrote.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be produced by MAPPA and is believed to be in production right now. However, fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing the second season. The anime's return is set for a release window between December 2022 and March 2023. This means it will be part of the Winter 2023 line-up early next year.
So what can fans expect in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2? The first season concluded with the first-year students being recommended as Grade 1 Sorcerers. With that in mind, the second season could kick off with the manga's Shibuya Incident arc and possibly revisit Satoru Gojo's past.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is still screening in theaters and is expected to hit cinemas across North America this March. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to be dropped anytime between December 2022 and March 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
