Aside from the highly anticipated anime film release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a novel based on the film will also be published in the same month of the film’s premiere.

The confirmation of a novel version of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was listed on the Jump J-Books website. According to Anime News Network, the novel is scheduled to be released on December 24, the same date as the anime’s exciting premiere in Japanese theaters.

The novel will be mostly based on the film that was script-written by Hiroshi Seko. The author of this novel adaptation is Baraddo Kitaguni. Aside from the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 novel, Kitaguni also wrote other novels for the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise. The manga creator, Gege Akutami is created for the original work and concept.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on Jujutsu Kaisen’s prequel story titled Jujutsu Kaisen 9 Tokyo Toritsu. The story is centered on the nervous high school student Yuta Okkotsu who is suffering from a serious problem that his childhood friend Rika turned into a Curse and his predicament was noticed by the teacher at Jujutsu High, Satoru Gojo. Jujutsu High is a school where the students learn to fight against different Curses. He convinces Yuta to enrol on the campus. But the question remains if he will be able to learn enough skills in time to save Rika.

Jujutsu Kaisen was created by Gege Akutami in March 2018 for the Weekly Shonen Jump. The first three chapters of the manga were licensed and released in English by VIZ Media as part of Publisher Shueisha’s Jump Start initiative. Later on, VIZ Media released new chapters of the manga digitally when the company switched to its new Shonen Jump model in December 2018.

The popularity of the manga has paved way for an anime adaptation that premiered in Japan in October 2020 in a total of 24 episodes. The show is also available for streaming in North America and other regions.

As of this time, there is still no one if there will be international screenings for the highly anticipated anime film of this well-loved franchise.
