Jude Law Gives Us an Idea for the Plot of Sherlock Holmes 3

It's been almost a decade since the release of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, but now buzz is growing for the third movie in the franchise which is set to come out in 2020. Robert Downey Jr. has been very vocal about the project, and now we have some comments from his co-star Jude Law.

Law tells Entertainment Weekly:

"We hope to propel the story forward. As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We're going to examine — since it's been several years since we've seen them — we're going to play up the fact that they haven't seen each other for a long time either."

Game of Shadows certainly ended with a cliffhanger, and though the movies have been successful in the box office, it was odd that it look so long to get a sequel. No doubt, Downey and Law have been busy lately, but it's great that they're still onboard for the franchise.

Hopefully Guy Ritchie is still attached to direct.

For now, Law and Downey have some big movies coming out next year. Downey will return as Tony Stark for Avengers 4, and Law is making an appearance in Captain Marvel. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but a lot of people are guessing that Law is playing alien Mar-Vell, and he will be the one to bestow his powers onto Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson).

Sherlock Holmes 3 is slated for a release on Dec. 25, 2020.
