Ju Ji Hoon is among Kdrama’s OG leading men and up to this year, he maintained his status as one of the in-demand actors.

From being the heartthrob crown prince in the 2006 hit rom-com Princess Hours to a rookie park ranger in Jirisan, the Hallyu star seems like he doesn't age at all.

Apart from his slew of remarkable Kdramas, it was the Netflix series Kingdom where he gained worldwide popularity.

The 2019 series is one of the most-watched K-zombie series of all time. Due to its popularity, it was renewed for a second season, had a spin-off starring Jun Ji Hyun, and is set to release its second spin-off Kingdom: The Crown Prince.

The story will focus on Crown Prince Lee Chang showing his past and present at the height of the catastrophe.

Interestingly, the upcoming spin-off is helmed by The Outlaws director Kang Yoon Sung and penned by Kim Eun Hee, who is also the genius behind the first two seasons of Kingdom, as well as Jirisan and Signal.

Unlike the Kingdom: Ashin of the North, Kingdom: The Crown Prince will be a 6-part series played by none other than Ju Ji Hoon.

It appears that his role in Jirisan is perfect for the actor.

According to a report, Ju Ji Hoon’s workout activities outside the gym include hiking.

The actor enjoys going on long walks and hiking during his free time which made him the perfect actor to play rookie park ranger Kang Hyun Jo in tvN’s thriller drama.

For the actor, he explained that he “exercises a lot to improve” his physical strength.

During his preparation for Jirisan, he had to do other exercises like biking and taking a lot of walks around Jirisan park to improve his stamina.

“It was hard to film in the mountains because the ground wasn’t flat. Just standing alone made me very tired. Scenes where I climb the mountain, hike in heavy rain, and fall over were all required for the shoot. You can only do these things when you’re physically strong,” he said when asked about the challenging part of filming the drama.

The Hallyu actor often stars in Kdramas and movies with a lot of action and physical scenes, one of which is the 2017 thriller mystery series The Devil.

Playing the role of the defense attorney, Oh Seung Ha, he spent most of his time working out and would dedicate three hours every day to do exercises, and would only eat chicken as part of his diet.

With his intense workout routine and strict diet, Ju Ji Hoon lost 5kg of his weight but turned out to have a super ripped body.
