DC Studios is looking again for another actor to play Hal Jordan in HBO's Green Lantern series, Lanterns, as Josh Brolin has officially passed on the offer.
Recently, it was reported that the Avengers: Endgame star was in talks to potentially star in Lanterns as fan-favorite Green Lantern Corps member Hal Jordan. It was unknown during that time whether he had agreed.
Since then, fans have been waiting for the news on whether Brolin has decided on the potential DCU involvement. James Gunn also did not comment on the report.
Josh Brolin Turns Down Hal Jordan Role in HBO/DCU's Lanterns Series
It was recently reported that Brolin has officially turned down the offer to play Hal Jordan in Lanterns.
There is no reason stated regarding why the actor declined to star in the series. He received the offer around the end of August and, during the past weekend, his mind was made up, and he decided that he wouldn't do the project.
As a result, DC Studios will now be looking for another actor who could potentially play the coveted role. Lanterns is currently planning to begin filming from January to June next year in Atlanta.
Other A-lister actors are also rumored to be in contention for the role. However, the report has shot down the possibility of Matthew McConaughey agreeing to do the project.
Brolin's potential casting in the DCU series received mixed reactions from fans as some of them were supportive of the possibility while some felt that he was not the right choice for the role.
Now, the speculation is over as the actor will not be playing the role at all and it is interesting to see which veteran they'll end up casting to play the fan-favorite Green Lantern Corps member.
Hopefully, we will be able to hear another casting update very soon and find out who will be wearing the ring.
