The new Kdrama Joseon Attorney has finally premiered on MBC, starring VIXX leader Cha Hak-yeon, WJSN Bona, and Woo Do Hwan.
The series tells the story of an outsider lawyer who takes revenge by trial on a person responsible for his parents' deaths. Although he started working on it out of revenge, the drama will portray the growth of the main character, who is gradually becoming a real lawyer who works for the people.
Joseon Attorney Episode 1 aired on March 31, 2023, and received a nationwide viewership rating of 2.8%.

Joseon Attorney Episode 1 sees Woo Do Hwan coming to the city of Hanyang to open his own attorney office. He claims to be well-known in other cities and proceeds to promote his business to the people.
Because of his impolite demeanor, Kang Han-Soo has not had any clients for a while. One day, a plum wine seller gets into trouble as the Jang guild tries to stop him from doing business. Kang Han-Soo sees this as a potential case to start, so he does things out of hand, like starting the fire on the plum wine seller's house.

Woo Do Hwan takes on his first case in Joseon Attorney Episode 1
Left with no choice, the plum wine seller approaches Kang Han-Soo and asks him to take his case. They filed a lawsuit against the Jang guild and took it to the magistrate.
At first, the plum wine seller had no confidence that Kang Han-Soo would win the case, but as soon as the young attorney presented his defense, the people who were witnessing the trial started to side with him. He kept his strong attitude, but his defense was so good that his opponent couldn't say anything.
The magistrate was bribed by Jang before the trial started. He was under pressure from the crowd, which kept chanting Han-Soo's name, so he had no choice but to declare victory for Han-Soo and his client.

WJSN Bona tries to take matters into her own hands in Joseon Attorney Episode 1
Disguised as a merchant house servant, Princess Yeon-Joo attempts to persuade her brother, the King, to use his power to help a friend in need. Yeon-Joo, who is known by the Hanyang people as Sowon, convinced her brother to form a law that will give small business owners freedom to sell their goods.
However, a conflict inside the palace prevents the king from helping Yeon-Joo. Instead, she had to do things by herself. After winning the trial, she had no choice but to report Kang Han-Soo as the culprit who set the plum wine seller's house on fire.
Meanwhile, Kang Han-Soo and his assistant's sentences got reduced when Yeon-Joo found out that the former had actually saved the plum wine seller's mother from taking her life. She helped clarify that it was an accident, so the attorney got released after 20 beatings.

Woo Do Hwan plans revenge in Joseon Attorney Episode 1
Joseon Attorney Episode 1 also highlights Kang Han-Soo plotting his revenge on the leader of the Jang guild. It turns out that Jang was responsible for his family's enslavement and misfortune.
However, he got abducted by Jang, along with Yeon-Joo, who was innocently trying to apologize to him.
