Jon Snow’s Missing Direwolf Is Set To Return To Game Of Thrones’ Final Season

It looks like Jon Snow's (Kit Harrington) direwolf Ghost is going to make his way back to Game of Thrones.

Though the special direwolf failed to appear in quite a number of Winterfell scenes during the seventh season of the fantasy epic, Game of Thrones VFX supervisor Jon Bauer just recently told the Huffington Post that fans Ghost would really be making an appearance in the final season of the series.

Not only that, but according to Bauer, Jon Snow's pet would be given "a fair amount of screen time" during the show's final run. It was pretty difficult for Game of Thrones' VFX team to create direwolves for the seventh season of the series, but now that the creative team's been given ample time to work on the show's episodes, Ghost can finally be given more time to shine in the show.

"The direwolves are tough because you don't want to get them wrong, so we end up always shooting real wolves and doing a scaling trick with them, but the real wolves only behave in certain ways," Bauer explained.

Good television shows usually want to bring their stories to a full circle during their final set of episodes. Game of Thrones probably wants to do the same and with Ghost being in the very first episode of the series, it would only make sense that he'd also be there for the last season. The only question left is whether he'll last in the battle against the undead once GOT season 8 finally premieres.

Game of Thrones returns with its final season sometime 2019.
