A lot of MCU fans are celebrating the return of Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin through their appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye, respectively, although it is unknown yet if they are the same versions from Netflix's Daredevil series. But still, they are relieved that Marvel is keeping the same actors for the roles. As it turns out, another character from the Marvel Netflix Universe might also be making his jump to the MCU soon.
ScreenGeek has reported that they've heard from their sources that Marvel is eyeing for Jon Bernthal to return as the Punisher in an upcoming Spider-Man film with a solo project down the line. However, they didn't provide any more information and they also noted that they are unsure if Bernthal is guaranteed yet to reprise the role.
We do have to point out that the news didn't come from the major trades nor announced officially by Marvel so we have to take this with a grain of salt for now. But it does make sense for the Punisher to appear in a Spider-Man film since the character first made his debut as the antagonist of Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 back in 1974.
The question now is if Marvel will be introducing the Punisher in the MCU soon, will Bernthal be back to reprise the role? Based on past interviews, it seems that the actor is willing to return to the role if ever he gets asked and a lot of fans will definitely get excited if it does happen.

Given that the MCU has introduced Cox's Daredevil and D'Onofrio's Kingpin, there is a reason to believe that they might also have Bernthal reprise the role of the Punisher in the main MCU canon. It's just a matter of time before we find out if it's going to happen.
