Jon Bernthal Addresses The Punisher's Possible Cancellation After Season 2

The Punisher Season 2 is finally out and Frank Castle has once again proven that he is one of the most compelling characters in the Marvel Universe. Unfortunately, most fans are also concerned that the series will be cancelled by Netflix soon after the premiere of the second season. Interestingly, the one person who isn't worried is Jon Bernthal.

Bernthal recently spoke to Variety about working on The Punisher Season 2 and even addressed the show's possible cancellation. The former The Walking Dead actor revealed that he isn't actually going to go full-Punisher mode on Netflix if the streaming giant decides to pull the plug on the series.

"I know the reality of the situation and I'm at peace with it. I really only worry about the things I can control. When I'm playing the character and I'm doing the job and it's right there in front of me, I do whatever I can to make it as good as I can. But in this business there's so much we can't control. Whatever is happening with these shows, these decisions are being made in rooms I'm not invited into and I'm OK with that."

Well, at least he's taking it like a good sport. However, several fans are already rallying against Netflix for cancelling the other Marvel shows Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

If The Punisher does end up being axed after the second season, it could also mean that Jessica Jones Season 3 could be the final one for the other Marvel series. However, the show's release date has not yet been announced.

The Punisher Season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
