Joker’s Gets Amazing Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score During Premiere

Joker is finally screening in cinemas today, and it looks like audiences are reacting even better to the movie than one might expect after all the controversy surrounding the comic book movie.

Initial reviews for the film after its global premiere at the 2019 Venice Film Festival may have been pretty stellar, however, there's been a shroud of controversy following the film with a growing concern that the movie may very well incite violence from those who have the same personality and the same demeanor as Joker (Joaquin Phoenix).

Despite its issues, fans seem to pretty much enjoy Joker, because now that film has finally premiered, everyone can weigh in on Todd Phillip's gritty character study of Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime (via ComicBook.com) and the scores are great. Fans have taken to Rotten Tomatoes and now it looks like the movie has a 93% audience score on the review aggregator site.

That's a lot higher compared to the 70% critic score that the film has in place (which dropped down to 69% for a short while yesterday right before the film's premiere), showing that fans are enjoying Joker much more than industry analysts would expect.

Not only do fans praise Joaquin's performance as Mr. J, but they also say that they feel like Joker was the perfect origin story for Batman's biggest villain.

Of course, Joker's 93% audience score could change in time as the movie continues screening in cinemas, however, there's no doubt that the movie is making an impact on the comic book genre. We hope that the film succeeds commercially as well.
