Joker Fans Praise Joaquin Phoenix for His Oscar Acceptance Speech


Joker might not have had that much recognition at this year's Oscars, but the film has been getting some love, especially from award-giving bodies that have been swept away by Joaquin Phoenix's ability to act in the comic book movie. Phoenix gave a powerful performance as Arthur Fleck in Joker and that performance has raked in a Best Actor award from the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences as well as from the Golden Globes and other award-giving institutions.

Climbing up the stage to receive the Best Actor award during the 92nd Academy Awards, Phoenix gave a moving speech after he won the award. The actor decided to talk about the environment and human relationships in his speech, moving listeners at the Oscars.

"I do not feel elevated above any of my fellow nominees because we share the same the love of film and this form of expression has given me the most extraordinary life. I don't know what I'd be without it," the actor said in his speech.

Taking to Twitter, fans decided to discuss Phoenix's speech, praising the actor for using his platform to speak about humanitarian issues that not only involve humans but all other species. The actor has been such a joy, really. Not only has the actor been able to move fans with his speech, but he also got himself arrested at the LA climate change protest with Jane Fonda.

Phoenix is undoubtedly a man with a stance.
