We may have already seen what Joaquin Phoenix's final Joker look is going to be for the Joker movie, but Todd Phillips shares this photo of Phoenix on IG wearing a traditional clown get-up.
Check it:
While the entire outfit and bowler cap isn't in the final costume, we do get to see some of the make-up Phoenix had on is already in place. You have the blue around the eyes as well as the red lips and eyebrows.
We don't know exactly what point in the movie this is, but I guess it's going to have ‘Arthur' working as a clown before snapping and becoming a criminal. In The Killing Joke, the Joker was a chemist before quitting his job, only to become a failed stand-up comedian. Maybe in the film, he wants to be a clown, but he ultimately fails and ends up turning to a life of crime.
Then again, we don't know if this story is going to embrace the entire origin of the Joker falling into a vat of chemicals, but I'll be satisfied if we got an in-depth exploration on how he broke his psyche in this movie.
Ever since production started, we've been getting a lot of teasers and looks at the set of Joker, that I'm actually starting to get worried that too much has been revealed already. Then again, maybe the DCEU has decided it's best to keep people excited for this movie before they start pushing the marketing in full for December's Aquaman.
Catch Joker in theaters Oct. 4, 2019.
