Joker 2: First Look at Lady Gaga’s Singing Wonder Harley Quinn

Joker: Folie à Deux has long been teased as a musical sequel, which takes a different direction as compared to the first Joker film depicted on the big screens starring Joaquin Phoenix. However, considering that Lady Gaga's previously rumored starring role as Harley Quinn has now been confirmed over and over, it's harder to turn away from the fact that we are, indeed, expecting a musical film from DC's most toxic couple.

DC fans couldn’t wrap their head around the Todd Phillips-helmed franchise having a musical sequel, especially starring someone as prominent as LG, claiming that a musical would defeat the purpose of having a more “serious” and “sinister” ambiance around Phoenix’s version of the Joker.

However, a new video emerges from the set of Joker: Folie à Deux, in which the user @jokerfolienews shared a short sneak peek of hearing Lady Gaga singing as Harley Quinn!

The actress appeared to be singing That’s Entertainment, which originated from the movie The Band Wagon, popularized in the 1960 by Judy Garland. Lady Gaga’s voice can be distinctly heard singing the lyrics: “The clown with his pants falling down… the scene where the villain is me, that’s entertainment.” Check out the video below:

Not much detail has been released in regards to the storyline of what we can expect from Joker 2, however, the lyrics we hear from the video is most likely Harley Quinn seeing the Joker for the first time, and knowing how musicals go, Quinn has captured the attention of the Joker.

Considering how musicals work, and how Harley Quinn has the tendency to go off into her fantasy land, we could be looking at Joker 2 through Quinn’s eyes as they both venture off into Arkham together.

It remains to be seen as to how much musical numbers the film intends to produce and use for the sequel, but given that Lady Gaga’s the leading actress, the film could potentially even include an original, specifically made for Joker: Folie à Deux.

Joker: Folie à Deux is currently slated to be released in theaters on October 4, 2024.
