With the next JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure installment beginning serialization soon, series creator Hirohiko Araki shared a new The JOJOLands visual that teases the Part 9 protagonist.

Specifically, Araki shared a new year greeting on his personal Twitter account that included a special visual for The JOJOLands.

While he didn’t explicitly mention it, many fans believe that the teaser gives us our first look at the protagonist of the latest JoJo part.

JOJOLands Manga Visual, Reactions

Araki’s illustration to welcome the new year features a rabbit because 2023 is the year of the rabbit in the Chinese calendar. Though it also features the side profile of a new character.

Below the rabbit is a message where Araki thanks fans who have supported his work over the past year. He also hopes that fans continue their support as Part 9 begins serialization.

In the replies, Araki also shared another visual for Part 9. This image features a large number 9 along with info on the start of its serialization in Ultra Jump this February.

It has been nearly a year and a half since JOJOLION ended, meaning this current break between parts is the longest ever for the series.

Because of this, fans reacted with joy to Araki releasing the new visual. The tweet was received well enough that it currently has nearly 200k likes. This just goes to show how excited fans are for the series’ continuation.

While The JOJOLands has been confirmed previously by Araki in an interview, he hasn’t mentioned many details about the series yet. The only thing that we know is that the protagonist is a descendant of Joseph Joestar from JoJo Part 8.

Though many fans believe that this new visual gives us a look at Part 9’s unnamed protagonist. Shortly after the visual’s release, fans buzzed with predictions.

The visual even inspired lots of fanart which quickly took over the hashtag #jojolands on Twitter.

Along with drawing the perceived main character, many fan artists incorporated the rabbit from the illustration.

Though it’s not clear if the rabbit is simply a reference to 2023 or if it’s something related to the new protagonist’s Stand.

We won’t have to wait too long though as The JOJOLands will begin serialization in Ultra Jump on February 17, 2023.
