Johnny Depp Trial Reveals Amber Heard is Set for Massive Pay Raise in Aquaman 3

Now that Johnny Depp won the multi-million defamation case he filed against his former wife Amber Heard, fans are awaiting the aftermath of the highly publicized trial and what it's going to do for the lives of both actors. Of course, considering how Depp has been cleared of all the allegations thrown at him, it would be safe to assume that his Hollywood comeback is upon us.

As for Amber Heard, many people are under the impression that her career will undergo a downward spiral after losing the case. As it stands, the ever-so-controversial actress is still set to make an appearance in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom but according to Heard herself, her involvement in the sequel has been reduced.

Speaking of Amber's role, during the Virginia trial (via The Direct), entertainment attorney Richard Marks discussed the possibility of Amber getting a pay increase for Aquaman 3 should WB decide to cast her again as Mera.

According to Marks, Heard's current deal is a "talent option contract" which means WB has the say whether to bring her back or not with no opportunity for the actress to turn it down. He also added that Heard could potentially earn $4 million for Aquaman 3.

The real question is, will Warner Bros. actually do the unthinkable and bring back Heard for a potential Aquaman threequel? Well, given the company's history of ignoring their actor's personal controversies, most notably Ezra Miller's, it wouldn't be shocking if Amber did end up reprising her role as Mera in the DCEU.

On the other hand, keeping her on board will only create a huge PR nightmare for WB and with the company set to usher in a new era with the whole merger with Discovery, they'd want to start on a clean slate.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's theatrical release has been rescheduled to March 17, 2023.
