On Saturday night, John Williams told the audience, at the Tanglewood Music Center, that his work for Star Wars: Episode VIII will begin in the next few weeks. The legendary composer conducted a 30-minute concert of his most iconic Star Wars scores, but he revealed some interesting things about his involvement as well.

, Williams also revealed to the crowd that the fundamental reason he consented to the invitation to score

was because he was "enchanted by actress Daisy Ridley's portrayal of Rey and does not want another compose scoring her scenes". I thought the soundtrack for
