John Williams is Very Pleased With Early Cut of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

John Williams has provided the score for every main Star Wars movie, and it looks like The Rise of Skywalker will be his last. As it turns out, he's very pleased with the first cut of the film, and he's already written a couple of minutes for the score.

Talking to The Times, Williams goes on about the progress of his final Star Wars score. The site writes:

Williams beams when he talks about watching an early cut of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will bring the nine-film space saga to an end this Christmas. He likes what he has seen "very much" and has so far written about 25 minutes of score in about a month.

While some are sad that Williams is ending his Star Wars career with TROS, I guess it would only be right seeing that the guy is 87-years-old. If I'm being honest, I actually enjoy his work on the prequel trilogy a lot more than the new films. Sure we have Rey's theme as well as the March of the Resistance, but how do they compare to Duel of the Fates, the Droid Army theme, or Across the Stars (Padme and Anakin's theme).

Williams also had this to say about him still working: "I don't write any better than I did 30 years ago. Maybe not as well. I probably know more than I did 30 years ago, but I have less physical energy."

Catch Williams' final Star Wars score when The Rise of Skywalker comes out Dec. 20.
