John Lithgow Open to Returning for 3rd Rock From The Sun Reboot

It has been almost two decades since 3rd Rock From The Sun concluded yet fans still can't help but hope for the sci-fi comedy to get a reboot. But what are the chances that the stars will return for yet another season of the NBC series? John Lithgow has just admitted that he would be ready to return as Dick Solomon at least one more time.

Lithgow recently spoke to Deadline where he admitted that Dick from 3rd Rock is the one role that fans always ask him about. Additionally, it was his stint with the series that often gets noticed by people looking into his work.

"Yes, I would say (that), which suits me just fine. I just loved 3rd Rock From the Sun," Lithgow said. "It's amazing how often when I'm asked to do something that couldn't be more different, the director or the writer will cross reference my performances in 3rd Rock From The Sun, because I went flying in all directions in that role. It was an alien trying out different ways of being a human, trying to figure things out."

But what are the chances that Lithgow would consider returning for a reboot? The Academy Award nominee stated that he would do it "as soon as I'm available." Hopefully, Lithgow will find time for a possible new season of the series.

3rd Rock From The Sun also starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kristen Johnston, French Stewart. The show premiered on NBC in 1996 and ran for six seasons before its conclusion in 2001.
