John Krasinski Teases Start of Production for A Quiet Place Sequel

Despite being a film about people who can't talk, A Quiet Place was one of the most buzzed-about movies that came out last year. A sequel has apparently been greenlit, and director John Krasinski teases start of production for Part II.

Check out his post:

Though we still have no plot for the film, we do know that the Abbott family is set to make a return. New cast members include Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Bryan Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Child's Play). Krasinski himself isn't listed in the cast, but I bet he can make a return in some form of a flashback.

With A Quiet Place ending in a more hopeful note, I'm curious what kind of direction this sequel is going to go with. It's been said that they were throwing around the idea of focusing the story on other survivors, but maybe there's more to the story of the Abbott family.

Personally, I thought the first film was a solid, complete story. I don't see any way a sequel could be made without just repeating the beats of the first film, then again, that's up to far more capable people to find out. I'm just a fan speculating online.

With production just starting, I guess we could get a teaser sometime before the year ends. Then again, this looks to be just a small film, so I can imagine they'll start building up hype sometime January 2020.

For now, A Quiet Place: Part II is set to come out March 20, 2020.
