Sadly, Marvel Studios hasn't yet unveiled the casting for the Fantastic Four reboot, which fuels speculations that John Krasinski would indeed return as Fantastic Four leader, Reed Richards, widely known as Mister Fantastic.

In a recent guesting on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski, who recently portrayed Fantastic Four's leader Reed Richards in the MCU milestone Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens up about the possibility of his return.

The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon brought up Marvel Studios "mega" panel at last week's San Diego Comic-Con, where the franchise announced major surprises. "Comic-Con, they just announced all these new movies, and they announced that there’s gonna be a new Fantastic Four movie," Fallon mocked Krasinski.

While Krasinski was evidently evasive in discussing anything regarding his MCU return, Fallon persisted and asked, "But… you think? You think?" Whereas Krasinski responded, "Seriously, what have you heard? I need to know." The actor added, "They don’t tell you anything."

Fallon still tested his luck on divulging the actor's possible return by bringing up Krasinski's wife, Emily Blunt, who is rumored to play Sue Storm in the upcoming reboot.

"And there’s also a rumor that your wife, Emily Blunt, would play Sue Storm," Fallon said. In response, Krasinki decided to play it safe by jokingly faking his death on live TV. "Jimmy, I’m gonna tell you on your show, it’s… (fakes death)"

While there are several actors who could possibly be fitting for Mister Fantastic role, there's no doubt that the role is meant for John Krasinski. Although his inclusion as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was only due to the fan demands, the Fantastic Four reboot could ultimately be the perfect opportunity for Marvel Studios to step up their game and cast Krasinki in the role for good. Aside from that, whoever secures the Mister Fantastic role would surely be a mainstay of the franchise, which clearly implies that the role should be given to Krasinski considering his triumphant Hollywood career.

For now, Marvel Studios hasn't yet announced the casting of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot but will be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.
