John Cho Doesn't Know Anything About Star Trek 4

The status of Star Trek 4 has been a hot topic of conversation as of late, thanks to the recent departures of Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth. While the latter wouldn't have been a huge loss in terms of storytelling, the former was one of the series' leads and it will be hard to ignore that elephant in the room. Because of this, fans have been curious about the film and what will happen to it.

John Cho, who plays as Sulu in the newer films, was recently asked about the movie and its happenings by USA Today. Unfortunately for them and anyone else who wants to ask him about the fourth installment in the franchise, he does not know much about the next movie. In fact, Cho said the only thing he knows about the film is that it's being made.

"I know very little about this. I've heard we're going to do one. But beyond that, I don't have details. I'd rather not know; I don't want to lie. The boring answer is to wait for the powers that be to decide. If there's a Star Trek phone tree, I'm not aware. We do write long letters to each other."

With the lack of information we have thus far, it's easy to assume that a script hasn't been finished or that the actors are sworn to secrecy. Trying to make a new installment in this franchise without one of its more bankable stars is going to be a huge risk so it's a good thing that no set release date has been revealed.

Seems like the first Star Trek film from SJ Clarkson is off to a rocky start but things could always get better. Stay tuned to Epicstream for more Star Trek 4 news.
