John Boyega on Whether He’ll Do More Star Wars After The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars fans are wondering what the future has in store for John Boyega after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres later this month. The British actor might have had quite a run starring in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but now that the Skywalker saga is coming to an end with The Rise of Skywalker, fans are wondering what Boyega is going to do after Episode IX. Will the actor continue with his Star Wars career in a new Disney+ series?

Speaking in an interview with Variety last Tuesday to talk about Star Wars, Boyega was asked if he had any future Star Wars projects after The Rise of Skywalker. The actor spoke with a whole lot of candor.

"In what?" Boyega answered the entertainment news outlet, laughing, "You ain't going to Disney Plus me!"

There might have been a chance of seeing more of Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy stars after Episode IX thanks to potential Disney+ series, but it seems like Boyega isn't that interested in heading to television.

Right now, Lucasfilm has been developing quite a number of projects for Disney's new streaming site, Disney+. There's Jon Favreau's new Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian which has proven to be a pretty big hit among fans (thank you Baby Yoda). Then there's the upcoming series like the Rogue One prequel series featuring Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series promising the return of Ewan McGregor.

Lucasfilm might not have announced it yet, but Boyega and his Star Wars sequel trilogy castmates could get their own show if the studio really wanted it. Let's just wait and see what Lucasfilm has planned for the franchise after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20, 2019.
