John Boyega Responds To Star Wars: Episode IX Trailer Announcement

Last week, word broke out that Lucasfilm would be releasing the very first full trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker during tonight's Monday Night Football on ESPN. The news came from John Boyega's agent – something which surprised fans. Now, it looks like Boyega has decided to address the announcement.

Taking to Twitter, the Star Wars actor addressed his fans about the trailer announcement, revealing that he doesn't really know when Lucasfilm plans to release the video for The Rise of Skywalker. According to the British star, it's best for everyone to wait for Lucasfilm to release the video.

While it seems like this post dispels the announcement made by Boyega's agent, Femi Ogus, there are still some who continue to speculate that the trailer may end up debuting during tonight's Monday Night Football. There's no harm in hoping for the trailer to drop tonight – we'll know soon enough whether or not Ogus was telling the truth.

If it ends up being a lie, then it's possible that the trailer may see release during next Monday's airing of ESPN's Monday Night Football. After all, Lucasfilm did release the trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi during October airings of the ESPN program.

We know that Star Wars fans are eager to see what else Lucasfilm has to offer in Episode IX, but we have to practice a bit of patience. The trailer will come, and when it does, we'll all go wild.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
