The galaxy far, far away might be welcoming back one of its most pivotal heroes. After years of speculation following the sequel trilogy's conclusion, new reports suggest that John Boyega is finally in talks with Lucasfilm to pick up his lightsaber once again. As former Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy stepped down from her post, Dave Filoni gets to whip this Galaxy Far, Far Away into its best shape as the President and Chief Creative Officer to oversee the franchise.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Finn actor John Boyega has reportedly met with Lucasfilm about his return to Star Wars. This follows Boyega's own confirmation at MEGACON Orlando, where he stated he has been in talks with Filoni. While there are no other confirmed details where Finn might be best suited to stage his reprisal, fans have definitely not seen the last of the former Stormtrooper just yet.

Boyega's performance landed him a lead role in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it's likely not going to be his last.

Considering that upon his last visit, Finn was speculated to play Lando Calrissian's son, as the first teaser trailer revealed he was a First Order Stormtrooper who would eventually become a Jedi. Unfortunately, Lucasfilm dropped the ball on Finn.

His story arc disappointed Boyega and Star Wars fans, especially when he was separated from Daisy Ridley's Rey, all the while ditching his potential Stormtrooper genes. But here's how Finn may yet find redemption.

How Finn Could Return to the Star Wars Franchise

The most logical way that Finn could return to the franchise lies in the New Jedi Order film currently in development. Since The Rise of Skywalker more than confirmed Finn's Force sensitivity, fans have long anticipated seeing him finally train as a Jedi under Rey Skywalker's leadership.

Apart from exploring Finn's Force sensitivity, with Filoni on the wheel, he is currently developing a post-Episode IX trilogy from Simon Kinberg, which could see an older, more experienced Finn leading a new generation of galactic defenders, where they could rebuild the Jedi Order with Rey.

Another upcoming Star Wars film in question is Star Wars: Starfighter, which could interconnect with the Mando-verse Disney+ series, focusing on the war between the Imperial Remnant and the New Republic. It would also connect other storylines, such as The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. Since it's set around 5 to 6 years after The Rise of Skywalker, there's a potential cameo there for Boyega, too.

Rey Skywalker becomes a Jedi Master in a post-war, post-First Order era as she establishes a new Jedi Academy and trains the next generation of Jedi, seeking to bring peace to the galaxy, with the inclusion of Finn among them.
