Joey Lawrence Wants To become The New Batman

Last month, Ben Affleck announced that he was officially hanging up his cape, retiring from his role in the DC Extended Universe as the burgeoning superhero franchise's Dark Knight.

Ever since then, various actors have been throwing their name in the ring including popular musician Nick Jonas. Now, as rumors regarding the Batman role continue to circulate online with fans suggesting names like Man from U.N.C.L.E and Call Me By Your Name star Armie Hammer and Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, Joey Lawrence has started nominating himself for the role.

Taking to Instagram, the 90's sitcom Blossom actor has put up a post making it clear that he wants to take over as the DCEU's new Caped Crusader. Lawrence is obviously campaigning for the role, asking his fans to help support him so that he can live his dream as Gotham's new Dark Knight.

"Angels!! I want this part! Let's do this!! Been dreaming of saving #Gotham far back as my memory goes! Let @dccomics and @wbpictures know!!!! #jl4batman#unexpected#dreamcometrue#blessed#muchlove ??" the actor wrote on his post.

Since then, Lawrence has made a couple of other posts placing him side by side along with Batfleck, nudging fans to support his goal.

One of his fans finally started a petition on Change.org. Titled "Cast Joey Lawrence as the next Batman," the petition has gotten about 500 supporters in the six days that it's been up on the site. That might not be a good sign, but Lawrence still persists.
