Joe Russo Teases Character Deaths In Avengers: Infinity War

There's a lot of excitement surrounding Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War and while everyone's gearing up to see Josh Brolin's Mad Titan exchange punches with more than 60 superheroes in an epic Marvel mash-up movie, it seems unlikely that the film will end without leaving some casualties.

Speaking with MTV at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, one of InfinityWar's directors, Joe Russo, decided to tease the character deaths in the highly anticipated Marvel movie. Saying that he and his brother aren't holding back, the Marvel director told fans to prepare themselves for Infinity War.

"My brother [Anthony Russo] and I believe in stakes. I believe that everything has to have an end at some point in order for it to have value. The audience should be prepared."

Of course, while the Russo brother's tease higher stakes in Infinity War, Marvel President Kevin Feige promises fans that the movie's going to keep to the studio's formula and remain entertaining despite being "emotional."

"It'll be emotional for a lot of different reasons. As all our films try to do, we want to have the laughs, we want to have the heart, we want to have the humor, and Infinity War has all of that."

Marvel isn't really a big fan of character deaths and while it seems inevitable that a battle as big as Infinity War won't result in a few casualties, it seems natural that the movie is still going to display some levity – after all, that is what the franchise is known for.

Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas May 4, 2018.
