A lot of great things are dropping in October from the Breaking Bad movie to HBO's Watchmen, but the big cherry on top has got to be Todd Phillips' Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix. WB is hard at work promoting the film, and we have some new posters thanks to Fandango and Dolby Cinema.

Check them out:

I have to say, though Joker is a low-budget film compared to other comic book movies, it could be the reason why the art directions for the promos have been a bit bolder. You'd think that the official posters would feature other actors like Robert De Niro or Zazie Beetz, but so far everything has been all about Arthur Fleck or the Clown Prince of Crime.

If anything, anyone who already seen this film has nothing to say but praises, and everyone has been raving about a phenomenal performance from Phoenix. With the influence of Martin Scorsese films like The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver, Joker looks to be an in-depth character study masquerading as a comic book film. With the kid-friendly Marvel formula dominating the comic book genre these days, it's like Joker is trying to trick fanboys into watching something a bit more intellectually stimulating.

Failed comedian Arthur Fleck encounters violent thugs while wandering the streets of Gotham City dressed as a clown. Disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow dissent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

Catch Joker in theaters Oct. 4.
