J.K. Simmons Allegedly Reprising J.J. Jameson in Morbius

Marvel fans were in for a pleasant surprise when Spider-Man: Far from Home gave us J.J. Jameson in the form of J.K. Simmons, and though we don't know when J.J. will pop up next in the MCU, he's apparently going to have a role in the SUMC soon.

As per DR Movie News, Simmons will be reprising the role of J.J. in a cameo in Sony's upcoming Morbius film. Here's the tweet:

We should take this with a grain of salt for now, but it would make sense that Sony would want to build on the success of Far from Home and connect it to the SUMC they're still building. They actually wanted to have Holland cameo in Venom, but Disney was said to have asked Sony to pull out the character. I guess they knew exactly what they were doing because Venom was a critical bomb.

Hopefully Morbius isn't too bad, and having J.J. in it will slowly build up this larger Sony universe. If you ask me, they should just really stick to building a Spider-Verse based on multiple Spider-People rather than focusing on solo films based on villains. I mean, Venom was a bomb, but Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a triumph to a lot of fans. More of that please.

For now, Morbius starring Jared Leto is set to come out July 21, 2020.
