J.K. Rowling Helps Harry Potter Fan In Need With Handwritten “Expecto Patronum”

J.K. Rowling has once again proven how awesome she is by helping a Harry Potter fan. It doesn't take magic to help someone, and the famous author showed this Wednesday after a fan asked her for a favor.

Twitter user @AlwaysJLover, who identifies herself as a survivor of bullying, sexual assault, and multiple suicide attempts, sent Rowling a heartfelt open letter via the social media platform.

She wrote:

I'm not proud of these things, but it's who I am. I'm also trying to stop my hardest to stop self-harming.

The Twitter user, who signed the letter Kate, told Rowling that it would help her recover if the author could give her a handwritten "Expecto patronum," which in the Harry Potter world is a charm that protects wizards from creatures called Dementors. Kate wanted to get a tattoo of the handwritten "Expecto patronum" on her wrist as inspiration.

Of course, knowing Rowling as the helpful and inspirational individual that she is, willingly obliged and gave Kate some positive words of encouragement.

She wrote with the handwritten spell:

I love that you're working to heal and protect yourself. You deserve this. I hope it helps.

It's awesome how books and movies are able to help and transform lives for the better, but it's even more awesome how their authors are willing to take time from their busy schedules for fans in need.
