There is little doubt that fans will brave the cold Chicago weather just to attend the Star Wars: Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration this weekend. However, these people were also surprised and kept warm by awesome Episode IX hats that were handed out by director J.J. Abrams.
Some fans have been waiting in line outside McCormick Place for several hours just to be a part of the Episode IX panel. Although most of these people were happy to brave the cold weather, Abrams didn't want them to suffer too much. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens director reportedly sent out several Episode IX beanies to be given out to the fans.
In addition to the Episode IX beanies, the patient fans were also treated to some McDonald's treats while they waited.
Luckily, the fans were finally allowed into the arena two hours ahead before schedule so they can keep warm in the building. However, there is little doubt that these fans are already feeling warm and fuzzy from Abrams' awesome gesture.
Abrams is undoubtedly excited to discuss his new Star Wars film which will serve as a sequel to The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. As of writing, the official title and trailer for the new movie have not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, people are hoping that these will finally be revealed during the panel.
The still-untitled Episode IX is set to be the final film in the Skywalker Saga. Mark Hamill is expected to reprise his role as Luke Skywalker for the last time in the movie.
Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
