J.J. Abrams Confirms Some 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Rumors Are True

We've seen tons of Star Wars: The Force Awakens rumors lately. We just posted some leaked details about the film's opening sequences, but most of them haven't been confirmed by Lucasfilm and Disney, so we're still not 100% sure which of them are actually legit. At least now we know which of them are true thanks to director J.J. Abrams.

While Abrams was at the Irish Oscar Wilde Awards in Los Angeles, he told the BBC that some of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens rumors are true.

"There are a ton of rumours – some true, some false. But I'm grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie. I know what it feels like, as an enormous Star Wars fan myself."

It's surprising to hear that he's grateful for people reading the spoilers. I know there are some people against possible spoiler rumors but some fans couldn't wait to get the latest scoop about the film, so I think J.J. Abrams can understand the excitement speculations bring up to the film's release. He went on to give an update about the film, saying:

"I can't wait for you to see it. It's been a blast working on this and luckily we have an incredible post-production team. There are always challenges as you go but it's been a complete kick to put this together."

Of course he wouldn't tell which of the rumors are true or that would really ruin the surprise for fans. Which of the rumors do you think is true?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on December 18.
