Jim Lee's Detective Comics #1000 Cover Revealed

It's going to be 2019 soon and Batman fans are excited about Detective Comics #1000, which will celebrate the Dark Knight's 80 years of publication. Like Superman before him, the 1000th issue will have a ton of variants and a companion graphic novel that collects some of Batman's more memorable tales. However, one thing fans have been waiting for has been the cover for Detective Comics #1000.

Jim Lee has finally unveiled his cover and it looks great. Rather than go for a simple pose like Action Comics #1000 this one has Batman taking down The Joker while Nightwing and Alfred are in the background with an already subdued Riddler. It's not Jim Lee's best work but as a celebration of Batman, it does the job.

This will definitely look nice with the cover Jim Lee provided for Action Comics #1000 and I for one cannot wait for the deluxe edition hardcover of this comic. The comic is currently scheduled to have a number of high-profile creators, including Geoff Johns, Brian Michael Bendis, Paul Dini, Christopher Priest, Denny O'Neil, Neal Adams, Kelley Jones, Dustin Nguyen, Alex Maleev and more.

A lead story from Peter Tomasi and Doug Mahnke will also introduce the Arkham Knight to the DC Universe, after previously appearing in the video game of the same name. Tomasi actually worked on the tie-in comics for that game so it's interesting seeing him go back to this concept. One thing we know is that this new Arkham Knight won't be Jason Todd.

Detective Comics #1000 comes out this March.
