Jeremy Renner was Convinced He'll Die Following Snowplow Accident So Here's What He Did

The entire world was rocked earlier this year after news broke out that Jeremy Renner, one of the pioneering stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was involved in a horrific snowplow accident that left him with multiple injuries — including blunt chest trauma and over 30 broken bones that quite frankly, could have taken his life.

For the uninitiated, the incident happened on New Year's Day after the Hawkeye actor attempted to save his nephew from being rammed by a seven-ton PistenBully snowcat. Following the accident, there were even reports claiming the actor would need to undergo emergency surgery to have one of his legs removed which thankfully wasn't the case.

Now, fast forward to a couple of months, and Renner is miraculously on his way to recovery with his body still in one piece. The 52-year-old star is ready to tell his equally traumatic and inspiring story.

An emotional Renner recalled his near-death experience and how he knew it could have been the end of him. In a sit-down interview with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer, the MCU star said: "If I was there on my own, that would have been a horrible way to die. And surely it would have."

Trying to hold back his tears, Renner revealed that after the accident, he was ready to say goodbye to his family and the first thing he did was pen a farewell note to his loved ones, thinking he was gonna die. "I’m writing down notes in my phone to — last words to my family..."

More than his physical strength, I think the whole incident proved to us that Renner's intestinal fortitude is unparalleled. It's great to know that he's on his way to recovery and we can't wait to see him back doing what he does best.
