Following the hype of viewers, Kill Bok Soon, which stars Jeon Do Yeon beats Song Hye Kyo’s The Glory season 2.

The action-packed movie and the revengeK-drama that both aired on Netflix is among the popular K-contents released this 2023.

However, shortly after the release of Kill Bok Soon, the film is outshining the achievements received by The Glory season 2.

Kill Bok Soon Ranked First Place in Kinolights

According to a local media outlet, Kill Bok Soon took first place in the integrated content rankings.

Kinolights, an OTT-integrated search and content recommendation platform, released the list of integrated content rankings for the first week of April.

Kill Bok Soon started the month ranking first place followed by the Hollywood film John Wick: Chapter 4, starring Keanu Reeves.

Interestingly, coming in at third place is the webtoon-based K-drama Duty After School: Part 1.

Is Netflix’s Kill Bok Soon Worth the Watch?

Released on March 31, Kill Bok Soon stars Jeon Do Yeon as a killing machine assassin named Gil Bok Soon, who works under M.K. Ent, run by Cha Min Kyu, played by Sol Kyung Gu.

Apart from her interesting yet dangerous work, she is a mother of a teenage daughter named Gil Jae Yeong, portrayed by Kim Shi Ah.

The film depicts Bok Soon’s top-notch mission after she gets caught up in an intense confrontation right before she refuses to renew her contract.

Joining Jeon Do Yeon and Sol Kyung Gu are a roster f talented stars including Esom who played Cha Min Kyu’s fearless sister, Cha Min Hee, and Koo Kyo Hwan as the skilled assassin, Han Hee Sung.

In addition, veteran actor Hwang Jung Min made a surprise appearance and played the role of Korean Japanese syndicate Shinichiro Oda.

Media like The Guardian described Kill Bok Soon as an “intense Korean assassin thriller with satisfying complexity.”

On the other hand, Rotten Tomatoes gave the action-packed Korean movie 81 percent Tomatometer and 83 percent audience score, hinting at how entertaining Kill Bok Soon is.
