Lucasfilm might have announced the official cast for Star Wars: Episode IX last month, but while production for the film's been going on, director J. J. Abrams has continued to add a few more names to the sequel trilogy installment. Not only has the Star Wars: The Force Awakens director tapped his former collaborator Keri Russell, he's also brought in Dominic Monaghan to fill in a role in the film.
Now, speaking in an interview with Cinema Blend to help promote her upcoming film Peppermint, Jennifer Garner was asked whether she'd also be interested in reuniting with the director for his newest Star Wars project. Garner's answer? A big yes.
"Now that you mention it, I'm gonna have to just call J.J. up and say where's my turn!? I mean, I would do anything with J.J., and Star Wars is Star Wars, but I'm not holding my breath."
Garner used to star as Sydney Bristow in J.J. Abram's ABC series Alias, a show that received multiple awards and nominations as well as great reviews from critics. While it seems like Garner is hoping that Abrams might ask her to join Episode IX the same way he asked Felicity star Keri Russell, the actress isn't really expecting anything much. Sure, she'd like to get involved, but there's no reason to unnecessarily get your hopes up while the call hasn't been made.
Star Wars: Episode IX makes its big premiere on December 20, 2019.
