The 50-year-old star started acting as an understudy for the Roundabout Theater Company in New York City after she studied theater at Denison University.
She debuted in the TV adaptation of Danielle Steel’s romantic novel Zoya in 1995. She then did several guest appearances on TV and played a number of supporting roles in movies.
She then had a featured role on the teen drama TV series Time of Your Life and a supporting role in the war drama Pearl Harbor.
Garner started to receive widespread recognition when she did Alias, earning her several accolades, like a Golden Globe for Best Actress – Television Series Drama and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama. She also received four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nominations.
It was followed by the strings of successes of 13 Going on 30, Daredevil, Elektra, Juno, Ghosts of Girlfriend Past, and Valentine’s Day.

At the start of Alias, Garner used to receive $45,000 per episode until it increased to $150,000 per episode at its end.
She received a $3 million paycheck for 13 Going on 30 and $7 million for The Kingdom. She then accepted a nominal upfront salary for Juno in exchange for a percentage of the movie’s backend gross.
As an endorser, her five-year contract costs $15 to $20 million.
