Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Role in The Boys Season 3 in Jeopardy Due to COVID-19

We already know that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining the cast of The Boys Season 3, which is truly exciting news for fans. But is it possible that The Walking Dead star might have to turn down his mysterious role? Showrunner Eric Kripke has just admitted that getting Morgan on the show could be difficult due to COVID-19.

Kripke recently spoke to Games Radar where he stated that although he is looking forward to having Morgan on the Amazon Prime series, there are several reasons why the appearance might need to be cancelled.

"I will caution everybody that COVID could really screw that up because he's a regular on another show," Kripke said. He then continued that Morgan's lead role in the AMC show is a major factor.

"He is on The Walking Dead, so he can only come up for a couple of days. If there's still a two-week quarantine between Canada and the United States, that renders that impossible," Kripke said. The showrunner then added that they are looking for ways to make it work for Morgan and The Boys.

"Of the many things COVID is screwing up in this world, a Jeffrey Dean Morgan cameo or a Jeffrey Dean Morgan role may be one of them. But if the quarantine is removed and a couple of things break our way? Then yeah, we'll try to figure it out," Kripke concluded.

Although Morgan's appearance in The Boys Season 3 is still uncertain, there's at least one other Supernatural star who is already sure to appear in the series. It has been confirmed that Jensen Ackles will play Soldier Boy in the show.

The Boys Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime on September 4.
