Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining The Boys this season 4 and fans are eager to find out who he's bound to play on the Prime series.

The most that the official trailer teases is but a small part where Billy Butcher is needed on 'their' side. But what 'side' does the Supernatural actor want him on? Fans have one simple guess on what role Morgan plays in Butcher's plan to take down the Supes.

The Walking Dead Alum is Joining The Boys on Prime

While there's no confirmation yet on which character Morgan will be playing on The Boys, showrunner Eric Kripke teased the qualities that the part the actor will play in the upcoming fourth season.

"He's an old colleague of Butcher's," Kripke shared, "I can tell you that he shares a lot of Butcher's concern and hatred of superheroes."

Kripke added how the Boys are always somehow "pulling Butcher back", so what would happen if "he started working with someone who wants to push him forward?" Well, prior to this smallest clue on nailing Morgan's part, fans have one theory in store.

Here's Why Fans Believe Morgan Is Playing THIS Ambiguous Character

The Boys fans only have one name in mind where Jeffrey Dean Morgan could fit the bill: Joe Kessler.

Initially, some were convinced that Morgan might be Tek Knight, Derek Wilson already took that out of the window on Gen V, leaving fans to suspect Joe Kessler as the next likely shot.

In the original comic book series, Joe Kessler is named Howard, a CIA analyst Butcher used for intelligence gathering. As part of the humor behind the character, the Boys nicknamed Kesseler "Monkey."

The "Monkey" moniker comes from the incident where Kessler was raped by Doctor Peculiar's green "AIDS monkeys" in both his ears, which was immortalized via a statue that Peculiar crafted in the brothel.

There's a chance that the Prime series could refine this character's backstory more, seeing as his comic book fate ended quite grimly by being anally raped by Terror as per Butcher's request.

Plus, based on the short footage of "Joe Kessler" laughing at Butcher's nickname for his team, it's safe to presume that the dynamics will change in the series compared to their comic book counterparts.

Considering that the most we know about Morgan's character is having a common goal as Butcher to take down the Supes, Vought, and The Seven, improving this "Joe Kessler" would do him more good than harm.
