In one of those blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments, a perfume product placement was brilliantly added in the 2010 animated movie, Megamind. Although some caught it right away, others are only learning about the mention of Jean Paul Gaultier in Megamind.

Let's talk about this scene and how it got viewers interested in the perfume.

In the 2010 animation, Megamind, those well-versed in fashion were excited about the mere mention of the designer's name. The scene was when Megamind was preparing for his date with news reporter, Roxanne Ritchi.

While getting ready, Megamind's ally, Minion, enters the room and asks what he is up to. Megamind nonchalantly hides the fact that he is preparing for a date.

Minion, however, notices that Megamind is wearing perfume. He says:

"Are you wearing Jean Paul Gaultier's Pour Homme?"

Megamind denies this and says that it is his "natural musk."

We're unsure whether this was intentionally a product placement or just a reference to the writer's favorite scent. But whatever it is, it does smell really good.

There is a real Jean Paul Gaultier Pour Homme perfume in the market.

On social media, people quickly pointed out that the bottle of the perfume looked like a male human torso and happened to be blue. They couldn't help but think that the product was made in Megamind's image.

But no, we have to debunk this. Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male fragrance has actually been around since 1995. It was created by Francis Kurkdjian, a master perfumer who infused together a blend of herbal, woody, spicy, and citrus accords.

For almost 30 years, the perfume has been one of the most successful products of the brand. It even has a version for female customers called Jean Paul Gaultier Le Parfum Classique.
