Jason Isaacs Addresses Lorca's Possible Return in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

There is little doubt that Gabriel Lorca is one of the best new characters who was introduced in Star Trek: Discovery. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that the former captain of the Discovery will be back on the show. On the other hand, there have been speculations that Lorca could actually make an appearance on a completely different series. Interestingly, Jason Isaacs has decided to address Lorca's possible return in the spin-off show Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Isaacs was recently in attendance at DragonCon where he was asked if his character is one of the familiar faces that will show up in Strange New Worlds (via TrekMovie). The veteran actor quickly said, "Taking the Fifth," before adding that it wouldn't help to spoil anything about the series.

"The whole point of having a story told to you is that you don't know what's in the story. It's like asking when someone is going to tell you a joke: 'Give me the punchline and I'll make my mind up,'" Isaacs said.

Isaacs also praised the writers on the series by pointing out that they are working out how to answer all questions. "And if they do bring back Lorca, or anyone else, it'll never be token," he added. "They take it more seriously than you could possibly imagine. Making sure that honors the legacy and gives them license to invent new and great stories."

It's understandable why Isaacs doesn't want to discuss his possible return in Strange New Worlds. Nevertheless, we're hoping that the writers will figure out a way to bring Lorca back soon.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
