Jar Jar Binks' Story Isn't Over Yet in January's Star Wars: Age of Republic Special #1

There were a lot of things fans didn't like about Star Wars: Episode I but the sticking point for most might have been the inclusion of Jar Jar Binks. Many felt that his actions and accent were racist, though most would point out how he's just really annoying without using those two accusations. Still, the character has had a few defenders who feel that he could have been used better in the prequels.

Fans of that character, if any exist, should rejoice as Jar Jar Binks will have his own story in Marvel's upcoming Star Wars: Age of Republic Special #1, which comes out in January. This will be a one-shot that tells the story of several characters from the prequel era but Jar Jar might just be the most infamous one to dedicate a tale too.

Luckily, Jar Jar is in good hands since writer Chip Zdarsky will be handling his story. Zdarsky has proven himself in numerous occasions, especially with his recent runs on Peter Parker: TheSpectacular Spider-Man and Marvel Two-in-One. Those comics were able to balance comedy and drama really well so here's hoping his Binks story can do that.

Age of Republic special will be a part of Marvel's huge Star Wars event that will be told through a number of one-shots. Stories will be set in the prequel era, as well as the timeline of the original trilogy and the Disney era, the last of which should be the most interesting.
