There's a lot of things to love about the Star Wars universe, although, there are some that fans aren't particularly fond of. It isn't new for the franchise to receive backlash, whether it be movies or characters. This was also the case with Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best, who shares his thoughts about pleasing everybody in the Star Wars fandom.

At the official red carpet live stream for The Rise of Skywalker premiere on Monday night, Best was asked regarding his thoughts on being a part of the Star Wars universe for 20 years. "You know, it's really great," he said.

The actor then became candid about the negative criticisms he has received for playing the character in The Phantom Menace. "You know, a lot of years, Star Wars lost a bit of that child-like joy for me," Best admitted. "Going through what I went through as Jar Jar was difficult."

The actor said that while filming, "it's such a wonderful bubble," all the while "collaborating with brilliant minds." However, when the movie was put "out there," they have "no control" on how fans will receive it. "Everybody's gaze is going to be different," Best added.

"The one thing about the Star Wars universe that no other universe has is everyone takes it personally," he continued. He claims that for every Star Wars fan, "it's their Star Wars." And in his perspective, this is one reason that makes it "virtually impossible to make everyone happy." Best said they have to put in the energy, love, hope, and faith, and the very reason why they're actually doing these movies. "You have to imbue that into every story that you tell," he added.

Personally, I think Best has a point. And even though everyone has their own preferences, people have to respect and recognize the fact that people like him have worked hard in making these stories come to life. Of course, not everyone will agree on this, and with a big franchise such as Star Wars, it is hard to make everyone happy with the creative choices put out.

For now, Best will be hosting the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge which is a series aimed at kids 10 to 14 that shows how Padawans train to become a Jedi. It is set for release sometime around 2020.
