Jar Jar Actor Ahmed Best to Host Star Wars Reality Show for Disney+

It looks like Disney+ is going to be doing more than just miniseries like The Mandalorian and Cassian Andor. News has just dropped that Disney will also be producing a reality show based on Star Wars, and wouldn't you know, the host will be Jar Jar Binks himself, Ahmed Best.

According to StarWars.com,Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge is:

… an exciting new Disney+ game show set in a galaxy far, far away, will test young contestants' abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight! From lightsabers to hyperspace, the Force, and the dark side, Jedi Temple Challenge transports viewers and contestants into the Star Wars galaxy like never before.

Like I've said, Best will be the host of the show, but he'll also be joined by a droid character voiced by Mary Holland (Veep).

While every Star Wars fan can be critical about any addition to the lore, I'm hopeful that they won't be so mad whiny when it comes to Jedi Temple Challenge. Producers can't emphasize enough that this is a kids' show, so we shouldn't be getting any angry complaints from fans about how it isn't close to canon.

If anything, I'm happy they're bringing Ahmed Best back. After all his work on Jar Jar, I think the fans really did him wrong by hating on him too much. Hopefully, this is a way for Lucasfilm to make amends with him. Maybe in the future, they can even give him an onscreen role.

Catch Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge when it airs on Disney+ sometime in 2020.
