The aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War has been interesting, as fans scatter and try to find out who has survived the snap from Thanos. Granted, most of us are expecting the heroes to be fine after Avengers 4, whatever that movie will be called, but it is still intriguing to see who else is affected by this massive tragedy. Previously, we noted that Doctor Selvig and Darcy are still alive; now we know that their companion and Thor's ex Jane Foster has survived as well.
It would have been easy to assume that Foster had died since actress Natalie Portman hasn't shown much interest in returning to the MCU, given how lackluster her character was in the first two Thor movies. Still, it's neat knowing that she managed to survive, at least according to this tie-in novel The Cosmic Quest Vol. 2: Aftermath (via ComicBookMovie).
Does this mean she will be returning to movies? That all depends on Portman of course since it seems doubtful that Marvel would recast her. While the actress hasn't shown much interest in returning to the role, Marvel could always convince her by giving Portman a much meatier role with Foster.
Would it be too early to give us the Jane Foster version of Thor? Probably.
Avengers 4 comes out on May 3, 2019. There will reportedly be a new trailer out this Wednesday, so keep your eyes open for it.
