James Woods Lashes Out At Disney For Rehiring James Gunn For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

It seems like everyone is celebrating now that Disney has reinstated James Gunn as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, James Woods is clearly not impressed with the move. The veteran actor has slammed Disney for bringing back the Slither director to the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

Woods took to Twitter to have his say about Gunn's reinstatement. The Family Guy star shared an article about the news then added a snide caption. Take a look at his tweet below.

"Oh, and is ⁦@therealroseanne⁩ back on Roseanne, too? Oh, wait..." Woods wrote, referencing Roseanne Barr, who was also fired from her own ABC series for offensive tweets.

The main reason why Gunn was fired by Disney in the first place was because of old tweets joking about pedophilia and rape. Although the Guardians of the Galaxy director has publicly apologized for his past posts, Disney seemed firm with their decision to remove him from the third GOTG movie.

Barr was fired from the reboot of her ABC series after she posted controversial racist tweets. She has since made a public apology for her posts but has not yet been brought back to the show.

This isn't the first time that Woods has lashed out at a Marvel project. The actor had previously suggested that Captain Marvel hates white men.

Gunn is currently working on Suicide Squad 2 for DC and Warner Bros. The director is expected to begin work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as soon as his other project is completed.
